Chelston Specialise in
implementations using Aculab's Telephony card, 'Prosody'. This Card
provides developers with versatile, high density speech processing in an
extremely compact and flexible form. A single Prosody card - occupying a single
slot - can deliver up to 240 channels of duplex speech processing. Prosody is
available in ISA and PCI formats. Because Prosody uses high performance
floating point DSPs (the SHARCTM from Analog Devices), Prosody processing is
not restricted to "low-end" algorithms that might usually be expected from a
speech processing card (tone detection, call progress, data compression ...).
On the same platform, it offers a considerably broader set of "high-end"
technologies including Automatic Speech Recognition, Fax processing and
Text-To-Speech conversion (TTS). This high performance, together with Aculab's
DSP software technology brings an extremely high density, and corresponding
value for money to the full range of features. And because Prosody is a generic
platform the whole feature set is accessible to applications via a single,
generic API, and potentially in a very compact system. Compared to
traditional speech cards (multiple APIs, restricted functionality, high
per-channel cost), and coupled with the fact that all of Aculab's DSP
algorithms are provided free of charge, Prosody is an excellent investment for
application developers and system integrators. From an extremely competitive
initial investment, functionality can be added and systems can grow without
further financing of hardware and application code. If there is a requirement
for a specific algorithm, Prosody is an open platform, and will support third
party code instead of - or as well as - Aculab's proprietary algorithms,
affording complete flexibility to the developer. For detailed API
information, see the Prosody Documentation page. Below is a list of Prosody's
